For my work Secret Santa I received a copy of Fourth Wing. Oddly enough it is one that I had not read before. I love dragons so I'm not sure how I missed this one... but I was excited to dive in.

It didn't take long for me to get pulled into the book. After the first chapter I was already yelling at the characters and the author. If you haven't read the book I won't spoil it (Go read it though!) but the book is about a girl who is frail (bruises and breaks bones easily) who assumed she was going to go to the scrip school and follow her father's footsteps and document the events of the world.

Instead, her mother pushes her into the rider school to follow in the steps of her. To become a rider you have to survive through three years of the school. Fourth Wing is her first year at the school. From making it to the school to a dragon picking you and surviving other riders who may try to murder you... it's not an easy task.

It took awhile for me to read it, and not because it wasn't good, but because there was a lot of world building and characters (plus I was in a reading slump and reading didn't draw me in). As soon as I finished Fourth Wing I jumped into book two.

For a book I had never heard of before Janurary... I am now following along with the series closely and what is going on with future books adaptations.

Have you read the series before? What is your favorite part or character? Let me know in the comments below!
