Like most people, I love listening to music. It is inspiring and just... fun! Like there is so much out there from instrumental to rap, jazz, blues... I have listened to a wide range of genres in music both because of music classes I've taken in college and just in growing up in general. I remember long car rides with my father where a song would come on and he'd ask if I knew why it was written, who wrote it, what the lyrics mean... I got a lot of culture from those trips.
So, of course, when I hear a song that just speaks to a character or scene... I am remembering it. This is why, on our extras page, you can find a Bound in Blood and Shadows playlist.
What is on there you ask? .... well... a ton. LOL But I'll go over a couple with you, from books that are already published (the others will just be a surprise).
Scars - By Boy Epic
This is the song I picture in my hear during Mine, when Mina is dancing in the club trying to get Callie's attention. I love the pacing of the song, I love the words and the meaning. It speaks to Mina and her situation so much
Hold On - By Chord Overstreet
This is an Endymion and Kealin song from Double-Edged War. They have a few on this playlist and I won't list them all here... maybe I'll put a list on the extras page for you guys, but this is one of their main songs. Their other main song:
1-800-273-8255 - By Logic
If you know Endymion and Kealin's story you'll know why this is also one of their songs.
Where Will You Go - By Evanescene
Is Where Will You Go's theme song. If you didn't guess... the title came from the song. This song plays anytime I struggle on a part and was one of the first songs that were added to my writing playlist.
I won't tell you anymore, if you want to know what other songs are on their, go check it out on the extras page. (And I'll look into adding a list for you all on the page too).
What song on that list do you like best? Which one do you hear and makes you think of one of the books? Let me know in the comments below!
