Bound in Blood and Shadows - College Stories

After the publication of Double-Edged War, I had to take a look at my novels and my world to determine how everything fit. In doing so I realized that a lot of my stuff fits into this one world. And thus, the Bound in Blood and Shadows world was born.

This world takes place in our own with a few differences. It also follows a huge timeline that has some key points to it.

The first key part takes place during the Secrets of Darkness series. This series has the trilogy - Where Will You Go, Ahunyest and the Secrets it Holds, Eyes of the Caged.

This series starts in the year 2006 during the peak time of slayers. Supernatural creatures are not out yet, most humans believe they are alone. The largest slayer group, The Gantos, are in their prime. I won't give anything else away as hopefully the first book in the series, Where Will You Go, will be out within the year!

After the Secrets of Darkness era, there is a gap which includes some stories to show what characters are doing during this period.

In 2020 there is a pandemic (sorry... we didn't mean to predict this back when we were writing Double-Edged War) and the world goes into a second civil war.

In 2027 the American States are in a fall and a depression worse than our previous ones, to try and get out of debt they sell states. In 2030 the first state, Alaska, is sold to Canada. A few more states are sold but a big key event happens in December of 2033 when Oregon goes up for sale. This process takes some time as bidding is back and forth. Finally in October of 2035 Oregon is sold... to the vampiric race. Humans suddenly find that they are not as alone as they thought. In the following years 2035-2040 other species begin to purchase their own states, shifters, werewolves, and in 2040... dragons.

In 2043 the state of Utah goes against the American States and declares war on the neighboring state, formally Colorado, now Liri. And in 2044... humans wonder if perhaps they need to delay war on supernaturals and another war is looming...

This leads us to another key event and the next series in the Bound in Blood and Shadows world - Ruins of War. Right now this series is set to have seven books

Piece in War

Wolves of War

Road to War

End of War

(Tentative titles)

These books follow the different species and characters as they try to prevent a full out war between the species. Double-Edge War is published already with their books - Holding Ground and Taking Flight (See last weeks blog to learn more) Book Two is being worked on currently.

After Ruins of War we are lead into another period of time which includes more species coming out and purchasing states. This falls between 2047 to 2054.

In 2055 we have our last series. Tentatively titled: Slave of Peace, it is a six book set

This series has a rough outline, but nothing formal and will likely be WAY out in the future when it's written.

Many of my other books (Mine, Knowing, When All Else Fears, etc...) fall on the timeline somewhere. Characters in those books may show up in others and you might see characters from those books in books that have yet to be released.

There is also a prequal series that has a little bit of an outline to it called Before the Darkness, but this too is just early early stages of thought.

The two main series will be Secrets of Darkness and Ruins of War. But, if you are interested in seeing key points on the Bound in Blood and Shadows timeline, go to the website under extra and check out the timeline. Each series will get it's own timeline down the road, but for now, key events are on the main one.
