If you've been here for awhile then you remember when I was in high school I made a website called CALNVAK. The L in CALNVAK stood for L. J. Smith. Many of you probably know her for her series, The Vampire Diaries. Though I enjoyed the books (and the first season of the TV series) it wasn't my favorite series by her.
Her first two books - The Wildworld Series was a good series, though not my favorite.
The next series - The Vampire Diaries was the set that sparked a TV series, but then was given to another ghost writer... it was a big thing.
Her other series - The Secret Circle - was about witches and became a TV series for one season, didn't do as well as The Vampire Diaries.
Then the series that caused a lot of heartache - The Nightworld series - This series never got finished due to health and family issues that came up in the author's life.
My favorite series though was called - The Forbidden Game - It was about a game and the evil character inside (who I of course LOVED!) If you haven't read it... you really should... THIS is the one I wanted a TV series of, though I would have been pissed if they messed it up...
Though it's been a long time since I've read L.J. Smith, I still love her books. I was saddened by the news of her death, not only knowing there will be nothing else from her, but also because it was the end of such great adventures...
Have you read anything by L.J. Smith before? What was your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.
