Demon
Species
Demons are creatures from Hell typically with large wings, tails, and horns. They are often feared for being evil, though the ones on Earth normally keep to themselves. There are many species that also come from hell that are often group into the "demon" category, though they are not demons themselves, they are see as such. (More details on them as they show up in the novels).

Dragon
Dragons, having been hunted for so long, learned to adapt and blend into the human world. They learned how to take human form, much like shifters. They are often more comfortable in their dragon form and are stronger in that form. Most dragons are small clan base, meaning they live in groups of three or four, usually a family with the parents and child or sometimes siblings. There are cases of large groups living together, but the larger the group, the higher chances of fights. (Note: Don't ever call a dragon a shifter, though they are similar in many aspects, dragons are not shifters. You'll probably get eaten for that comment).

Shifters
Shifters are animals that have learned to take on human forms. Rumor has it, this started with endangered species finding a way to protect themselves. Much like dragons, shifters are more comfortable in their animal form. There are several types of shifters, with the theory that long ago many animals learned to take on human forms at some point or another. Wolf shifters are different from werewolves for several reasons (See the werewolf section for details). You must be born a shifter and are unable to be turned into one. Most shifter parent will take the form of their animal while in labor, giving birth to the child as that animal and then teaching them to turn to human form. It's rumored those born in human form have a weaker connection to their animal side.

Vampires
There are two types of vampires. Those that are born and those that are turned. Most people won't be able to tell the difference between them, but there are differences. Vampires don't burn up in the sunlight, though it does bother their eyes (if you had heightened vision I bet it'd bother you too). They are also not bothered by crosses or garlic (again, heightened scent though). Vampires have heightened vision, hearing, and scent. All vampires have to drink blood. Born vampires need blood less often than turned as they learn how to control their hunger. Most born vampires eat real food, though they don't need it to survive. Turned vampires need blood more often and normally become sick should they eat too much human food as their bodies are different from born vampires.

Born Vampires - Born vampires age, much like humans but at a slower rate. These vampires don't get sick often, most humans sicknesses don't affect them. Many born vampires will pick a prime "age" to stop the aging process. Once they have picked that time and stop the aging process they are unable to start it again and are forever stuck at that age until they die. Some born vampires won't stop the aging process and will continue to age until they die of old age.
Turned Vampires - Turned vampires are those that are turned by another vampire. Any vampire can turn another if they know how to do it. Vampires that are turned are stuck at the age they were turned for the rest of their lives, or until they are killed.

Werewolves
Werewolves are humans that are turned into wolves, usually by bite. The first werewolf is rumored to have been made when a rabid wolf shifter bit a human, though there is no conformation to that theory. Werewolves when they take wolf form look like slightly large wolves. New werewolves often have no control over their wolf side and many can be "lost" in that side and have problems turning back to human. The more they turn the easier it becomes. Werewolves can turn at any time, not just on full moons. The pull to turn is often a problem, which is why many turn during full moons. Werewolves are usually hot headed and tempered, though they can learn to control their emotions and their animal side.
Witches

Witches are often described as humans with powers. That isn’t the case, really, but most witches won’t correct the humans. The most common witches are elementals with the ability to control one of the elements. There are also witches who can heal, read minds or control minds. And a few rare ones that tell the future or are able to absorb powers.

Humans
Humans are a large portion of the population. Though it’s unclear when the first humans found out about supernaturals or why they did find out but ever since that day humans everywhere are slowly starting to find out about the other world laced into theirs. Many are becoming “protectors” where as others are becoming “slayers” others are joining groups and organizations everywhere in order to help or hinder the supernaturals. Though many humans know about the supernatural there are still more that don’t know.
Other Species
There are multiple species and as the novels are written, these species will be added onto this page, so come back for more!
