If you remember last weekend I discussed our outdoor event (from the pervious weekend) that ended in a loss of product. (The risks of outdoor events). Because of that I was unsure about attending the next event (last weekend). Yes, it was indoors, but I didn't have a ton of product and there would be no time to have more shipped in time.
But, I told them I was going to be there, so I was going.
Last weekend's event was an Adult Book Faire (Fantasy Edition) that took place in the Sloan Museum in Flint. We set up our table and when the doors opened at 6pm... the place became packed. There were so many amazing vendors, food trucks and drinks. It was a fun time all around. During this event the guests also had access to the museum's special exibit, The Lost World of Dragons. I was able to slip away to go see it and let me tell you... if you are near Flint, MI. It is worth the price. The dragons are life size, move, talk and there is SO much cool information about them. It's interactive and has a VR headset (That I didn't get a chance to use due to time) and so many neat things to see!
But, at the time, we had people stopping by from 6pm until nearly close at 9pm. I sold out of my remaining copies of Double-Edged War and even meet someone who had read Mine already and was ready to read more!
I am so glad I decided to attend and didn't allow the outdoor event dull my love of selling.
For everyone who attended, thanks for stopping by my table, even if you didn't purchase anything, just getting to see how many people love fantasy and was supporting the arts was amazing! Thank you to the museum for putting it on!
And go see the dragon exhibit before they go! It's open until September 13th! Click the link below for more information! And enjoy the following video for a sneak peak!
